The LS-400 carries the voices and the detail of everything you play outside. Here is what makes it good at it.

    Two drivers, one clear voice

    A rigid, well-damped aluminium oxide dome tweeter sits in front of a 4-inch mineral-filled woofer. Together they reach from 135 Hz to 21 kHz, so vocals stay articulate and cymbals keep their shimmer even in open air.

    Aim it at the people, not the fence

    The head pivots on its knuckle and locks with a knurled knob, and the spike carries a flat alignment mark. Point every speaker at the seating and the sound stays in your yard instead of drifting next door.

    Rated for the storm, not just the shower

    IP56 means dust protected and able to withstand powerful jets of water. The mineral-filled enclosure is rigid and dense, so it shrugs off the elements while blending into its environment.

    Brown, low and softly shaped, the LS-400 stands just 291 mm above the soil. Tuck it between strappy foliage or along a planter edge and guests hear it long before they ever spot it.

    Built to be wired in numbers

    At 32 ohms, the LS-400 is designed to run in parallel: up to four on a single amplifier channel still presents a safe 8 ohm load. That is how one ordinary stereo amp can drive a whole garden.

LS-400 Satellite: questions we get asked

Why is the LS-400 32 ohms?

So several can share one amplifier channel. Wired in parallel, two present 16 ohms, three 11 ohms and four 8 ohms, all safe loads for an ordinary stereo amplifier.

How many can one amplifier run?

Up to four per channel, so eight on a stereo amplifier. With an LS-80 subwoofer sharing the channels, the manufacturer still allows up to eight satellites.

Can I add LS-400s to an LS-6.1 system?

Yes. The LS-400 is the satellite used in the LS-6.1, so extra pairs match it exactly and can extend the system to eight satellites.

Is it sold singly?

No, the LS-400 is sold in pairs, each with its own ground stake.
